How does it work?

The Photofirm skin rejuvenating laser treatment uses both Cutera's wavelengths, first pigmentation is addressed using the Cutera Alexandrite 755nm, the specially designed Laser targets only the cells with excess concentration of pigment and leaves the surrounding tissue unharmed. Its quick, gentle and non-invasive. Then We use Cutera's ND YAG 1064nm to follow with a full Laser Genesis treatment to stimulate collagen production; elastin is strengthened tightening the skin. On the surface (epidermis) fine lines, pore size, diffused redness/dialated capillaries and scarring redness are reduced. This is the full package anti aging skin rejuvenating treatment.

What do treatments feel like?

This true laser photo rejuvenation treatment can feel warm and at times there is a mild prickly sensation, it's a very tolerable treatment with amazing results!

The treatment is then followed by Laser Genesis, you will feel a sense of warmth, certain area's are more sensitive and it can feel hot at times, but most often people compare it to sunlight in a concentrated area, and many clients even fall asleep during the session.

How to prepare for me appointment?

If possible please arrive with no make up. Men should be cleanly shaved. Avoid sun exposure for four weeks before treatment. Sun exposure makes the laser treatment less effective and makes complications post-treatment more likely. Also avoid using self tanner on areas to be treated. No antibiotics, vitamin A creams such as Tretinoin, retinoids, retinols, hydroquinone, glycolic or AHA’s 10% or stronger for 5 days prior to your appointment. Wait at least 7-10 days after receiving any cosmetic injections such as Botox and 2 weeks after receiving any fillers.

Be sure to wear SPF before and after treatment. SPF use ensures that the delicate new skin is being protected and will help you maintain the best results. We should always wear sunscreen. Please avoid strenuous exercise and steam rooms immediately before and after your treatment.

When should I expect results?

Visible results of photo firm facial skin rejuvenation treatments can be seen after 1-3 treatments. Up to 5 treatments could be necessary for residual stubborn pigment, repeated every 2 – 4 weeks.

Immediately following the treatment your skin may appear slightly red and possible mild swelling can occur, which should resolve on its own within a few hours. The brown spots will start to darken for 4-7 days, spots will look darker as they come to the surface and slough off (let them slough off without picking). You may apply mineral makeup to cover the darkened brown areas. After your treatment, always apply SPF 30 or high as your skin will be more sensitive immediately after the treatment. Wearing SPF everyday will also prevent future sun damage and maintain treatment results.
