How does MOXI work?

MOXI utilizes a fractional laser technology that creates tiny microchannels in the skin. These channels trigger the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen production. As collagen increases, the skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more youthful. Collagen is crucial for maintaining the skin’s structure, as it keeps it firm, plump, and elastic. However, as we age, collagen production decreases, leading to the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

As new healthy collagen is formed you will see smoother, brighter and tighter skin. MOXI works well for fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture, sun damage, melasma, pore size, skin laxity, lip lines and crepey under eye skin with as little as three to six treatments.

In addition to collagen stimulation, MOXI also attracts water molecules to the skin. By penetrating the skin’s surface, the laser energy creates channels that allow water to deeply hydrate the skin. This hydration helps to plump up the skin, reducing the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.

What does a MOXI treatments feel like?
A topical numbing cream can be applied to the area being treated 30 minutes prior to your treatment to minimize discomfort if needed. The procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes depending or areas being treated and most patients notice a slight buzzing sensation against their skin.
Most patients have some slight swelling and redness/pinkness (like a mild to moderate sunburn) for one to two days following the treatment.
How to prepare for my appointment?
​
Avoid using retinols, hydroquinone for 7 days prior to treatment, and 7 days post treatment. Wait at least 7 days after receiving any cosmetic injections such as Botox and 2 weeks after receiving any fillers. No Accutane for 6 months prior to treatment. Be sure to wear mineral SPF 30 or higher before and after treatment. SPF use ensures that the delicate new skin is being protected and will help you maintain your treatment results.

When should I see results?
After the procedure, the skin will be red and flushed in appearance, similar to a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on certain areas. This will diminish significantly within a few hours following the procedure.

The day after Moxi, your skin may still appear red, and you may start see tiny dark micro dots called “mends” (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) appear on the 2nd or 3rd day after treatment, these will feel rough and will slough off over the next several days please do not pick or scrub.

Over the course of the next few weeks you will see brighter, tighter, smoother more even complexion.
